1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the EarthCast mobile application (the "App") provided by the EarthCast team (the "Operator"). By installing or using the App you agree to these terms.
2. Service
The App provides weather visualization on a 3D globe (wind, temperature, precipitation, clouds), a 72-hour forecast timeline, typhoon tracking, city weather, country information and travel guides, live webcams/CCTV, and street-level imagery. The service is free and ad-supported.
3. Nature of the Information (Important)
- Visualizations and forecasts are estimates based on numerical weather models (e.g., NOAA GFS) and may differ from actual conditions due to resolution and update-cycle limits.
- Typhoon tracks and forecast cones are derived from official agency data and are for reference only. For disaster response, always follow your local authorities and official meteorological agencies.
- Webcam/CCTV streams are provided by external parties; the Operator does not guarantee their content or availability.
- Travel guide content is derived from public sources (Wikipedia, Wikidata, etc.) and is provided for reference without warranty of accuracy or currency.
4. Intellectual Property and Data Sources
Rights to the App and its components (design, text, graphics) belong to the Operator. Weather source data comes from NOAA GFS, NASA GIBS, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), MET Norway, and the Korea Meteorological Administration; maps from OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap contributors; travel guide content from Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata (with license attribution); street-level imagery from Mapillary.
5. Prohibited Conduct
- Reverse engineering or copying the App, or bulk-extracting and redistributing its data
- Interfering with the normal operation of the service
- Using the App for purposes that violate applicable law
6. Limitation of Liability
The Operator does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information provided and, to the extent permitted by law, is not liable for damages arising from its use. Features may change or be discontinued without notice due to circumstances of external data providers.
